GUWAHATI: A local organization Naba Jyoti Sangha has cleaned up the surrounding areas of Deepor Beel in Guwahati and opened it for visitors as a picnic spot.

The authorities have always been negligent towards Deepor Beel and so the organization took up the responsibility itself.
Actor Champak Sharma inaugurated the spot and urged the government to stop all the illegal occupation of land and pollution occurring due to garbage and take proper measures against the same.
There will be availability of sanitized toilets. The fees for vehicle entry will vary, starting from Rs 20 for two-wheelers, Rs 50 for three-wheelers, Rs 100 for four-wheelers and Rs 200 for buses.
However, loud music and open alcohol consumption are prohibited at the spot.
Facility for drinking water will also be available effectively.
