GUWAHATI: Chaos ensued as commuters faced major problems plying on the FA Road adjacent to Pakka Masjid in the Machkhowa area due to debris from ongoing construction projects. The situation reached a tipping point on February 22, when numerous two-wheelers skidded sustaining injuries.
Speaking to GPlus, a vendor from that area said, "The debris which gets out while transporting to the flyover construction site was not a problem till yesterday. Due to light showers in the morning it got moist and the commuters are now prone to accidents. Since this morning there have been more than three accidents."

An official from the Public Works Department (PWD) speaking to GPlus said, "We are unaware of the situation, truck carrying materials to the sites will leave some debris on the road. Due to the rain the situation has gotten bad. We will look into the matter."
Amidst the rising risk to residents' lives, urgent calls have been made for the concerned authorities to devise a swift solution.
