Guwahati COVID-19 Patient Stable, Entire Spanish Garden Being Quarantined

GUWAHATI: Officials of the health and family welfare department informed G Plus that Guwahati’s first COVID-19 patient is currently admitted at the Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) and his condition is stable.

It is to be mentioned that a resident of Zoo Road’s Spanish Garden apartment complex in Guwahati became the first COVID-19 positive case from the city. 

He is also the first case in Assam who does not have any links to the Nizamuddin Markaz congregation in Delhi and had no travel history outside Guwahati after March 1.

Further, the authorities informed that the entire Spanish Garden apartment is being quarantined. 

Speaking to G Plus, Principal Secretary (Health), Samir Sinha said, “The patient is admitted at GMCH and his condition is stable. The whole area is being quarantined.”

With this, the total positive cases in Assam has reached 25.
