GUWAHATI: Cotton University in Guwahati has introduced a postgraduate diploma course in the Nepali language from this academic session.
Vice-Chancellor of Cotton University Prof Bhabesh Goswami formally inaugurated the course at MCB Building Conference Hall at the university on Monday, May 2.
Prof Goswami said that in the future, a full-fledged PG course could be introduced if Gorkha students are willing to obtain a PG degree in their mother tongue.
Classes for the postgraduate diploma course will start from Thursday. Prof Goswami further said that 12 students have enrolled for the course so far.
Cotton University becomes the second in the Northeast after Sikkim to introduce a diploma course in Nepali.
