Guwahati: In a shocking event, the lifeless body of an unidentified woman was found floating near Khanka Eidgah Maidan in Guwahati's Hatigaon area on Monday.
The body was found at around 8:00 AM.
According to sources, it was the alertness of the locals that led to the discovery of the body.
Speaking to G Plus, an official from the Hatigaon Police Station said, "The woman was missing since 6:30 in the morning. At 8:00 AM we were informed that a body was found."
"Till now we did not find any marks on the body, so we are assuming that the lady fell down on her own", the police official further added.
Further investigation is underway.
