GUWAHATI: Bishnupur Bimalanagar is all set to transport its visitors back in time to the enigmatic Maya Civilisation with its unique Durga Puja pandal. The Bishnupur Bimalanagar Sarbajanin Durga Puja Committee has embarked on a mesmerising journey, aiming to showcase the lifestyle of this ancient civilisation that existed over 5000 years ago.
To achieve the desired ambience, fire lighting techniques will be employed, recreating the atmosphere of that bygone period. The project comes with a budget of approximately ₹30 lakh.
Speaking to GPlus, a member of the organising committee shared their enthusiasm, stating, "We want to show people how life was lived 5000 years ago during the Maya Civilisation. Our pandal aims to be a window into that remarkable era, allowing visitors to experience a sense of history and culture."
The pandal's construction is a work of art in itself, using an array of materials such as bamboo, plywood, dhari, and pati. As the Bishnupur Bimalanagar Durga Puja pandal takes shape, it promises to be not just a celebration of the festival but a captivating journey through time and culture.
