Guwahati-based NGO Distributes Dry Ration to Villagers of Mandakata Commando Battalion Camp

GUWAHATI: In a noble gesture, “Helping Hearts” a Guwahati based NGO alongwith the Assam Police Commando Battalion distributed packets of dry ration amongst the villagers in the vicinity of the Mandakata Commando Battalion Camp.

The distribution took place under the personal supervision of the Commandant of the Commando Battalion, Ranjan Bhuyan, APS and the core committee members of the Helping Hearts, viz. Pankaj Surana, Mukesh Achantani, Ashish Jalan and Pankaj Bansal.

It is to be mentioned that a total number of 425 packets, each containing 5Kgs Rice, 1 Kg Pulses, Salt ½ Kg, Mustard Oil ½ Kg, Haldi 50 gms, Onions 2Kg, Potato 2kgs and Bath Soap 1 Pc, were distributed in the villages near the camp, namely Bata, Fuloon, Manikpur Baghaan & Mandakatta.

“Helping Hearts”, is feeding an average of 2000 people with nutritious cooked food on a daily basis since the lockdown began and plans to continue the initiative till the lockdown gets over and life is back to normal.
