GUWAHATI: In a distinguished honour, Guwahati's accomplished pottery artist, Mahananda Kumar, stands among the select 1,800 esteemed guests from across the nation who will partake in the 77th Independence Day celebrations at New Delhi's iconic Red Fort this year.
The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has revealed that this year's Independence Day festivities will encompass an extraordinary gathering of Khadi artisans and craftspeople representing 18 diverse trades, converging to commemorate the nation's freedom.
The Government of India has extended a cordial invitation to these artisans, inclusive of Kumar, for the ceremonial unfurling of the National Flag by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Ministry of MSME has meticulously chosen 50 accomplished Khadi artisans and an additional 62 artisans specialising in various trades.
