GUWAHATI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday, May 9, inaugurated the super speciality hospital at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
The hospital will bring the specialities of the Cardiothoracic and Neurosciences (CN Centre) under one roof. This is Northeast's first CN Centre in the government sector.

The services of the hospital will be operational for patients from May 10.
The blueprint of the centre was envisioned by the then Health Minister and the current Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in 2008. The foundation stone was laid in the same year with funds from the Central Government.
