GUWAHATI: Responding to complaints of LPG cylinder thefts, the police conducted a raid on a private residence in the Hatigaon, resulting in the recovery of 51 domestic cylinders on February 18.
The authorities reported that the operation took place at residence number 27 in Shahnagar, Hatigaon, during which 51 cooking gas cylinders were found and seized, having been illicitly stored in the house. One person has been detained in this case.
The police suspect the involvement of a major syndicate engaged in unofficial and illegal LPG cylinder dealings, allegedly operated by the occupants of the targeted residence.
Talking to GPlus, a police official from Hatigaon Police Station said, “In connection with this we have detained one individual identified as Mainul Haque, along with the confiscation of the gas cylinders.”
Further investigations are underway.
