GUWAHATI : The students of a popular school in Azara area of Guwahati fled the school premises on the night of March 1. The incident occurred at Miles Bronson Residential School.
The students had alleged issues with food supplied to them when questioned about leaving the school premises without notifying teachers. This was informed to G Plus by Utpal Changmai, Officer in Charge (OC) Azara Police Station (PS).
"Since it was night, we had to bring in the students to the police station. But they were later sent back to school," added the official.
The school authorities, on the other hand, highlighted disciplinary violations from the students. The police have instructed the school authorities and the guardians to sort the matter internally. "This is a disciplinary action and not a criminal case. So, they have to sort this out," added a police official.
Meanwhile, the school authorities were not available to revert on the matter when approached by G Plus.
