GUWAHATI: A 22-year-old man lost his life after being hit by a courier truck in the Hatigaon area on Sunday, September 22.
According to the Hatigaon police, the accident occurred when the scooter, on which the deceased was riding as a pillion, was travelling alongside the courier truck.

Talking to GPlus, an official from Hatigaonpolice station said, "As per witnesses, both the courier truck and the scooter were heading in the same direction from Hatigaon Chariali towards Rajdhani Masjid. While trying to overtake, the truck collided with the scooter when it suddenly braked, causing the pillion rider to fall under the truck’s rear tire. He was declared brought dead"
The truck driver has been apprehended, and a further investigation into the incident is currently under way.
