The incident unfolded when the District Child Protection Task Force went for a child labour drive and successfully rescued eleven child labourers from separate locations in Maligaon and Pandu.

These young victims, aged between 12 to 14 years and predominantly male, were found toiling under deplorable conditions, with some forced into labour within business establishments, while others were trapped in a makeshift amusement park.

Following their rescue, a First Information Report (FIR) was lodged against the alleged employers at Jalukbari Police station.
