Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi, speaking at Sivasagar, announced that the Centre and state governments have been working together to provide running water to all households of Assam.

The PM arrived at the historic Jerenga Pothar at Sivasagar to ceremoniously distribute land allotment certificates to 1,06 lakh indigenous people.
Modi said, "NDA govt has always kept the preservation of the Assamese culture as its foremost intention behind implementing policies including the protection of the Assamese language and promotion of its literature."
