Government To Release ₹4 Crore For Nabagraha Cemetery Development

 

GUWAHATI: Assam's Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sharma, conducted a thorough inspection visit today at the Navagraha Cemetery to enhance its infrastructure and facilities.

During the visit, he provided crucial directives to the concerned departments, ensuring the smooth and timely completion of the proposed construction work. The state government has allocated a budget of ₹8.70 crore for the development of the cemetery.

Expressing his unwavering commitment to improving the amenities at the Navagraha Cemetery, Sharma emphasised the need for efficient implementation of the project.

To kickstart the construction process and allocate resources for various essential facilities, the Chief Minister announced the immediate release of ₹4 crore.

This funding injection will enable the authorities to commence the construction work promptly.

Furthermore, recognising the potential of the Navagraha Temple as a religious tourist destination, the Chief Minister engaged in a comprehensive discussion with officials from the tourism and public work departments (PWD).

The objective of this discussion was to explore avenues to transform the Navagraha Temple into an attractive religious tourist spot, thereby boosting tourism in the region.
