GUWAHATI: In a significant breakthrough, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam, apprehended Lat Mandal Nabajyoti Nath in Morigaon district on Monday on charges of bribery.
Nath, who held the position at Morigaon Revenue Circle, was caught red-handed in front of the Morigaon Circle Office while accepting a bribe from a complainant in exchange for facilitating a mutation process.
The anti-corruption cell took to Twitter to report the incident, stating, "Today, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam (@DIR_VAC_ASSAM), trapped Nabajyoti Nath, Lot Mandal of Morigaon Revenue Circle, in front of the Morigaon Circle Office after he accepted Rs. 15,000/- as a bribe for processing Namjari."
