GUWAHATI: Goalpara College and Jawaharlal Nehru College, Boko have received the Letter of Intent (LOI) from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) for recognition and approval to offer the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP).

The approval marks a crucial step in enhancing teacher training opportunities in the region, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020's vision of strengthening the education sector through integrated programs. The ITEP is designed to provide aspiring educators with a four-year dual-degree course that integrates teacher training with subject specialisation, ensuring a robust foundation for future teachers.
The recognition from NCTE is expected to elevate the academic standards of both institutions and create new opportunities for students seeking a career in teaching.
