GUWAHATI: The Sanjha Mela organized by the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, kicked off on December 26 at the Sonaram High School Field, Bharalumukh.

This five-day event, running until December 30, is dedicated to promoting urban livelihoods and highlighting the exceptional talents of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and small businesses from across the country.
Inaugurated by Housing and Urban Affairs and Public Health Engineering Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah, alongside GMC Mayor Mrigen Sarania and Commissioner M N Dahal, the mela aims to empower small-scale entrepreneurs and artisans.
The Sanjha Mela is a platform to recognize and celebrate the hard work of SHGs and small businesses, providing them with a larger audience and market said, Mallabaruah during the inauguration.
