GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC), in a statement, said it has strictly banned spitting and urinating in public spaces.
The corporation has decided to impose a fine of Rs 1,000 for any such violation.
Further, the notification stated that there should be strict ban on sale of liquor, gutka, tobacco etc.

This notification comes after the national directives for COVID-19 management which was released by the central government, wherein spitting in public places has been made a punishable offence with fine.
