GMC Imposes ₹3,000 Fine On Eatery For Roadside Garbage Dumping

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has imposed a fine of ₹3,000 on an eatery located on BN Saikia Road for illegally dumping garbage by the roadside. The penalty was issued on Tuesday, April 8, as part of the civic body's ongoing efforts to enforce cleanliness and responsible waste management practices across the city.

“We urge all business owners to be responsible and dispose waste properly,” the body posted on X related to the incident dated Monday, March 24.

Earlier, on March 24, GMC had fined a bakery ₹30,000 for discharging wastewater directly into the public drainage system on CPB Road.
