GUWAHATI: Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has imposed a penalty of ₹6,000 on a juice-selling establishment on GS Road for dumping garbage on the road. The fine was levied on Thursday, February 27 to enforce Swachhata norms and maintain cleanliness in the city.

GMC took to its official X handle, stating, “GMC imposed a penalty of ₹6,000/- on a juice-selling establishment on GS Road for dumping garbage on the road. We request all citizens to maintain Swachhata norms and avoid fines.”
This action follows a similar penalty imposed earlier in the week when a commercial establishment on AT Road was fined ₹10,000 for improper waste disposal. The GMC took action against the violator on Monday, February 25.
Officials have urged all citizens and businesses to adhere to proper waste disposal practices to avoid penalties and contribute to a cleaner environment.
