Talking to GPlus, Parthajeet Das, the procurement officer of GMC said, “We have recently brought in both the automated sweepers for the benefit of our city, and as per schedule we are planning to sweep the streets and roads.”

The scarcity of sweepers leads to dust buildup, especially on vital roads, worsening air pollution. To further enhance operations, GMC has also procured three water sprinkler machines priced at ₹20 lakh each.

The road sweeping and cleaning will be done early morning or late at night, so as to not cause the residents and commuters any inconvenience.
