GUWAHATI: In accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Gauhati University has taken a significant step by implementing new guidelines aimed at improving the overall educational experience for both students and staff members. The changes, which include modifications to working hours and roles, are set to bring about positive reforms within the institution.
One of the major alterations pertains to the working hours of all Teaching and Non-Teaching staff at Gauhati University.
As per the new guidelines, the official working hours for both categories will be from 9 AM to 5 PM on all working days. This move is aimed at ensuring greater consistency and efficiency in the university's administrative and academic operations.
Furthermore, a noteworthy change has been made in the designation and role of fellowship holders at the university. Going forward, fellowship holders will be referred to as "Researcher-cum-Teaching Assistants."
