According to a notice issued by Gauhati University, it stated, "The involvement of outsiders and miscreants has worsened the situation, leading to serious injuries. In light of the uncontrollable events, the two hostels will remain closed with immediate effect."

To ensure the safety of students and restore order, the university has arranged alternative hostel accommodation for the residents of RCC-1 and RCC-2. Students have been given 48 hours, until 4 pm on October 2, to shift to other hostels on campus. The university has assured that transportation facilities will be provided to make the relocation process easier for students.

The district administration and local police have also stepped in to maintain peace on campus. In a statement, Gauhati University reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the security of its students and avoiding any further clashes.

Wardens from other hostels have been asked to assist with the relocation of students and ensure mess facilities are immediately available. All shifts must be completed by October 2, and the final list of boarders is to be submitted by October 5.
