Students are generally charged a fee if they apply for re-evaluation.

The Controller of Examination Gauhati University says in its notice, “This is for information of all concerned that the students appeared in the 5th semester TDC Examination, 2022 have to apply online through the students portal for re-evaluation for those who are interested. For which they need not pay Re-evaluation fees. Hon'ble Vice Chancellor has waived the re-evaluation fees for the 5th semester TDC students only for this year."

Pranita Rajbongshi, a Mathematics student from Hojai College said, “Our demand was that the Examinations Controller declare it in writing that the papers in question will be re-evaluated free of cost. The Vice Chancellor through the Controller of Examinations have assured us the same. The VC has told us that re-evaluation will be done in a week's time. However, we do not know when the results will be declared. We want the results to be declared before the admission process to post-graduate courses begins.”

Zoon from Mangaldai College said, “We have only been assured free re-evaluation. We can only wait and watch if and when it will be implemented. I hope the discrepancies in our mark sheets are resolved soon and we get the marks we deserve.”

Hundreds of Gauhati University students from Mangaldai, Tezpur, Darrang, Barpeta, Nalbari etc caught early morning buses to reach the Gauhati University premises on August 2 to protest against alleged discrepancies in the 5th semester results lately published by the administration.

Students protested against alleged discrepancies in the evaluation and the declared results. Students alleged that a few of the papers in some departments were not evaluated and the marks were allotted randomly.

Protesting students allege that students in their departments failed in the same papers and that everyone received uniform marks in those papers.
