GUWAHATI: Assam BJP MP Rajen Gohain accused of rape and sexual assault received a clean chit from the Gauhati High Court on Monday, March 25.
As per reports, the court stated that the case was false and the victim decided to withdraw the case against Gohain.
After getting the clean chit, it is being speculated that he is likely to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Nagaon.

Gohain is a four-time MP from Nagaon constituency and was accused of rape and sexual assault in August 2018. A case was filed against him under punishment for cheating, rape, and criminal intimidation. The case was filed by a 24-year-old woman from Deurigaon area of Nagaon district.
