GUWAHATI: Three bodies were discovered near the Assam-Manipur border by Assam Rifles on Friday, November 15, reportedly connected to the six people abducted by armed militants from Manipur's Jiribam district. The missing individuals, including three women and three minors, had been taken by militants earlier, and their families were anxiously awaiting their safe return.

According to reports, the bodies were handed over to the Assam Police and transported to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examinations. Preliminary information suggested that the deceased could be the women who had been abducted, though officials have not yet confirmed their identities. The final confirmation will come only after the post-mortem reports are received.
The abductions occurred on November 11, when a group of militants launched an attack on a police station in the Borobekra area. However, the assault was successfully repelled by security forces, who killed 11 militants during the confrontation. As the militants retreated, they reportedly abducted three women and three children from a relief camp located near the police station. All the victims were from the Meitei community.
The search operation had been initiated in an effort to locate the missing individuals.
