GUWAHATI: In a recent operation, the Officer-in-Charge (O/C) of Lala Police Station in Hailakandi district, along with the police staff, successfully busted a gambling den located in the vicinity of Lala Railway Station on Thursday where three individuals were arrested.
The crackdown, carried out last night, resulted in the apprehension of three individuals involved in the illicit activities. The arrested individuals were identified as Brijesh Singha of PK Road, Pankaj Deb of PK Road, and Rajen Basfor of SS Road, all falling under the jurisdiction of Lala Police Station.
Hailakandi Police put out a statement on X, which read, “Gambling den at Lala Railway Station area was busted by the O/C, Lala PS, and staff last night. 3 gamblers were apprehended namely - Brijesh Singha, PK Road, PS Lala, Pankaj Deb PK Road, PS Lala, Rajen Basfor, SS Road, PS Lala.”
The police action is part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal gambling activities in the region. Authorities are likely to take legal action against the apprehended individuals as part of the crackdown on such illicit operations.
