GUWAHATI: A free legal service centre was inaugurated in Guwahati on Friday by the Assam State Commission for Women, in association with the National Commission for Women.
The centre has been opened at the conference room of the Assam State Commission for Women at Beltola, Guwahati where legal services and assistance to distressed women who are unable to get legal aid due to financial constraints will be provided.
The free legal services centre will provide legal aid services, including counselling for women and representations in court, as per reports.
The Centre will provide assistance to women who are facing various problems, including domestic violence, sexual harassment, and discrimination and will also provide assistance to women seeking legal aid for property disputes, marital disputes, and other legal issues, media reported.
