GUWAHATI: The housing and urban development minister Ashok Singhal today claimed that from 1st December the Guwahati municipal corporation will collect free garbage from households.
The minister said, "Other than households in apartments all households garbage collection will be free," adding that the fees should be incorporated in property tax.
It needs to be mentioned that garbage collection is always a challenge for GMC and various experiments have failed for door-to-door garbage collection.
Is it a new experiment by the urban local body?
