Four Minor Boys Found Working On Transport Vehicle In Assam’s Morigaon, Rescued

GUWAHATI: Four minor boys were rescued by the Child Helpline Unit in Morigaon on Tuesday, May 6, after they were found working as labourers on a transport vehicle carrying bricks and iron rods. The operation was carried out based on credible information received by the unit.

According to officials, three of the rescued children are residents of Aimari Char under Bheluguri Police Station in Morigaon, while the fourth hails from Nagaon. Following the rescue, all four were taken into protective custody and produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) in Morigaon.

The CWC has directed that the children be provided temporary shelter and care at the District Child Protection Home in Morigaon. Their safety and well-being are currently being monitored while further steps for their rehabilitation are underway.

The Labour Department in Morigaon has been notified and urged to initiate legal proceedings against those responsible for employing the minors in hazardous conditions.
