Four Indians Including Assam’s Lovlina Advance To Finals At Boxing Championships

 

GUWAHATI: Lovlina Borgohain of Assam advanced to the finals of the Women's World Boxing Championships 75 kg category on Thursday, defeating former world champion and two-time Olympic medalist Li Qian 4-2 in New Delhi.

In addition to Lovlina, star pugilist Nikhat Zareen reached the final in the 50 kg category, defeating Colombia's Ingrid Valencia by a unanimous decision.

Nitu Ghanghas, on the other hand, advanced to the final after defeating Kazakhstan's Alua Balkibekova in a split decision.

Saweety Boora (81kg) has also advanced to the Women's World Boxing Championships final after winning their semifinal bouts on Thursday.

With this, four Indians have advanced into the finals of the Women’s World Boxing Championships. The finals are expected to take place on March 26 in Delhi.
