GUWAHATI: Dr. Nagen Saikia, former Asom Sahitya Sabha president who was also a part of the Clause 6 Implementation Committee has decided to go against the same and will no longer be a part of the committee.
Earlier the Union Home Ministry had formed a High-Level Committee (HCL) to look into the implementation of Clause 6 of the Assam Accord. It is headed by M.P Bezbaruah, IAS and includes eminent Assamese personalities from different fields.
The committee has to submit its report within 6 months of its notification.
