Assam’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Anurag Goel, announced on October 18 that nine flying squad teams have been deployed across five districts where bye-polls will be conducted.

With 9,10,665 eligible voters, including 19 from the third gender, the by-elections will be held across 1,078 polling stations in the constituencies of Dholai (SC), Sidli (ST), Bongaigaon, Behali, and Samaguri on November 13. These elections follow the resignations of several MLAs who assumed parliamentary positions during the Lok Sabha elections earlier this year, including prominent figures like BJP’s Parimal Suklabaidya from Dholai and AGP’s Phani Bhushan Choudhury from Bongaigaon.
