GUWAHATI: The Assam government's Cultural Affairs Department has revealed the beneficiaries of the artist pension scheme for the year 2024-25.

Under this initiative, 73 artists from across the state will receive a monthly pension, while family pensions have been announced for the families of 29 deceased artists. These families will be granted a monthly pension of ₹8,000, starting from January 17, coinciding with Silpi Diwas.

In addition to the pensions, the government will provide a one-time grant of ₹50,000 to 179 artists representing various districts of Assam. Further extending its support, special one-time assistance will be given to the families of 10 artists, and five differently-abled artists have also been included in the one-time grant scheme.
This package has been provided to honouring Assam's artistic community and ensuring their welfare.
