Five Arrested For Running Fake ONGC Job Recruitment In Guwahati

 

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Police arrested five people on December 11 and December 12, who were involved in conducting a fake job recruitment. According to Guwahati Police, the team was involved in deceiving people by conducting fake recruitment drives. A total of around 300 people were duped by these fraudsters. 

An FIR was lodged, based on the allegations, the Guwahati Police nabbed the team. 

Four persons were apprehended on December 11, who have been identified as Dharmendra Samua, from Lalmati, Simpah Kainyak from Mon district in Nagaland, Gakul Chandra Boro from Dhekiajuli, and Basu Kalita. On December 12, the prime accused person of this case Amitabh Sharma was apprehended, and all of them were arrested on the same day. 

Speaking to G Plus, an official of the Basistha Police Station said, "The group of these accused persons conducted a job recruitment stating that selected candidates will be recruited for the position of security guard in the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation. They collected application fees of ₹ 300 from each person. All the persons were called in the Baikunthapur Playground for a physical examination. The candidates soon after started having suspicious about it, and In the late evening, they approached the Basistha Police. The police arrived at the playground and apprehended the four.

According to the police official, Amitabh Sharma, hailing from the Bhagaduttpur area was also arrested earlier for a different case. All legal actions have been initiated.
