GUWAHATI: A fire broke out on the brake binding of the Agartala-Bengaluru Humsafar Express near Chaparmukh Station, Assam, causing panic among passengers and railway personnel.

Emergency teams responded containing the blaze before it could spread further and averting any significant damage. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported during the incident.
Talking to GPlus, NFR CPRO said, “There was a spark due to friction in the brake binding, causing this incident. There was no major fire outbreak.”
Efforts are underway to ensure passenger safety and prevent such occurrences in the future.
