GUWAHATI: An individual was apprehended on the charges of allegedly accepting a bribe in Silchar by the Directorate Of Vigilance And Anti-Corruption (DVAC), Assam, on March 5.

The individual identified as Abhijit Kar, the Field Surveyor at the Office of Silchar Development Authority was caught red-handed as he allegedly accepted a bribe of ₹15,000 in lieu of issuance of an NOC in official work.

DVAC, Assam, took to X to put out, “Today @DIR_VAC_ASSAM trapped red handed Abhijit Kar, Field Surveyor of the O/O Silchar Development Authority after he accepted Rs. 15,000/- as bribe from the complainant for issuing NOC.
