Set up in 1969 by Kamal Singh and Preminder Singh, THE SHOP has been a family-run business producing objects of beautiful living. Its inspiration comes from hand-crafted textile. Their passion lies in reviving craft communities by integrating contemporary design with the expert workmanship of traditional craft.
Their product range includes apparel, fashion, interior accessories, and home furnishings. The latest addition by THE SHOP includes silk screen printing, hand tie and dye, hand embroidery, hand quilting and Artisan machine and chain stitch embroidery.
THE SHOP brought experienced artisans from all over the country in their workshop and started hand block printing textiles. The global brand aims to offer an alternate to the mass-produced, low-quality products.
THE SHOP enjoys its presence in India, Tokyo, New York, Europe and has an online global presence.
With these upcoming exhibitions, THE SHOP attempts to interact with local entrepreneurs and provide them with an opportunity to identify the possibility of a long-term association thereby taking the North Eastern craft to the next level both in the National as well as the international market.
