FaceApp now owns access to more than 150 million people's faces & names

GUWAHATI: FaceApp, a popular mobile app which went viral recently, now has access to images of over 150 million users’ faces and names. 

According to Forbes, over 100,000 million people have downloaded FaceApp from Google Play and over 50 million people have downloaded it across other platforms including Apple’s iOS. 

The App, which is owned by Russian parent company Wireless Labs, was created in 2017.It poses security concerns that may give the developers of the app access to your personal information and identity.

According to reports, in the app's Terms and Conditions, it mentions that they have the right to modify, reproduce and publish any of the images you process through its AI technology. 

Cyber security experts have issued warnings stating that, "If you use #FaceApp you are giving them a license to use your photos, your name, your username, and your likeness for any purpose including commercial purposes (like on a billboard or internet ad)."

It is to be mentioned that FaceApp has been giving people the power to change their facial expressions, looks, and now age for several years.
