A tragic accident involving the Karnataka Express claimed the lives of 13 people and left six others injured in Jalgaon district on Wednesday night. The victims were passengers of the Pushpak Express who had stepped off their train after an apparent fire scare, only to be struck by the Karnataka Express on an adjacent track. The incident occurred when some Pushpak Express passengers pulled the alarm chain and deboarded the train near Bhusawal station. According to Dilip Kumar, Executive Director of the Railway Board’s Information & Publicity Department, the victims were either attempting to cross the tracks or standing on them when they were hit by the oncoming Karnataka Express.

Investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
