GUWAHATI: India is poised to face New Zealand in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final in Dubai on Sunday, March 9. The final is scheduled to begin at 2:30 PM, with the toss set for 2:00 PM.

India’s last appearance in a Champions Trophy final ended in defeat to Pakistan in 2017. This time, they secured their spot with a four-wicket win over Australia in the semi-finals. New Zealand, who finished second in Group A, defeated South Africa in their semi-final clash in Lahore.
New Zealand have had the upper hand in ICC knockout matches, winning three of their last four encounters against India. They claimed victory in the 2000 Champions Trophy final, the 2019 World Cup semi-final, and the 2021 World Test Championship final.
India’s only knockout win in recent meetings came in the 2023 World Cup semi-final.
In ODIs, India lead New Zealand 61-50 in head-to-head battles. Seven matches ended without a result, while one was tied. During the group stage of this tournament, India defeated New Zealand by 44 runs.
India’s likely XI includes Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, KL Rahul (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav, and Varun Chakaravarthy.
New Zealand are expected to field Will Young, Rachin Ravindra, Kane Williamson, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham (wk), Glenn Phillips, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner (c), Matt Henry, Kyle Jamieson, and William O’Rourke.
