Fortunately, both the driver and the polling officer aboard the vehicle managed to evacuate before the water inundated the vehicle, stated an official.

The vehicle was reportedly en route to the Amarpur area in Sadiya to replace a faulty EVM following the detection of a technical glitch during the morning polling session.

Talking to GPlus, the Office of the Lakhimpur District Commissioner said, “This occurred today morning. We have retrieved the vehicle and the EVM after necessary measures were taken. Everything is under control now.”
