GUWAHATI: The student body of Gauhati University has taken a major step against BJP leaders on January 13. They barred entry to BJP legislators and members inside their campus premises until the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill is withdrawn.

This news comes as protests sweep the state and also most northeastern states in the country. The Bill was passed by the Lok Sabha on January 8 and stalled by the Rajya Sabha on January 9.
