GUWAHATI: Eminent writer from Assam Shashi Sarma passed away following ailing health conditions in Nalbari on January 28.
Shashi Sarma who hail from Janigog in Nalbari was 89 years old at the time of his demise.
Meanwhile Sarma's body has been donated posthumously at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital on January 29.

It is to be mentioned that Sarma has been awarded with the Soviet Nehru Award in 1968.
