GUWAHATI: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has urged political parties and candidates to adopt responsible and transparent practices in their use of artificial intelligence (AI) during election campaigns.

In an advisory, the ECI emphasized the need for appropriate disclosure and labelling of AI-generated synthetic content to ensure accountability and foster public trust.
Highlighting the growing influence of AI in shaping public opinion, the Commission called on political stakeholders to prioritize transparency in their use of AI tools for campaign messaging, advertisements, and other electoral content. The advisory aims to prevent misinformation and promote the ethical use of technology in political discourse.
