GUWAHATI: An elderly man lost control of his scooter while taking a sharp turn in Chitralekha Nagar, Tezpur, and fell into a roadside drain around 9:30 PM on February 28. Trapped beneath his scooter, he was unable to free himself and called for help.

CDV Suhail Ahmed of the Assam Civil Defence Tezpur Unit, who was returning home from duty, heard the man's cries and rushed to assist. He managed to pull the elderly man from the drain, and with the help of other passersby, they also retrieved his scooter.
The man sustained only minor injuries in the accident. After ensuring he was safe, CDV Ahmed and the others checked on his condition before handing him over to his relieved family
