GUWAHATI: Padma Shri Ajoy Kumar Dutta, a social worker and former MLA, has accused the Education department in Assam of being the most corrupt in the state. Speaking on Guwahati Connection, a podcast series by GPlus, Dutta shared his disappointment at the corruption in the Education recruitment, despite his deep personal ties to the field.

Dutta also alleged "100 %" corruption in other departments like the Public Works Department (PWD) and Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC). Reflecting on his own time as an MLA, he highlighted the financial struggles faced by elected representatives, admitting that his salary was insufficient for even basic living expenses.
