GUWAHATI: The Investiture Ceremony 2023 of the Eastern Command headquartered in Fort William, Kolkata was held on Wednesday in Jorhat, Assam, by 41 Sub Area under the auspices of 101 Area.
The ceremony was presided over by Lieutenant General Rana Pratap Kalita, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command, who also presented the gallantry and distinguished services awards.
During the Eastern Command Investiture Ceremony, 12 Officers, 1 Junior Commissioned Officer, and 12 Other Ranks were awarded the Yudh Seva Medal and 19 Sena Medals (Gallantry - 18, Distinguished - One), as well as 05 Vishisht Seva Medals.
In addition to individuals, 30 Army units/battalions that have excelled in various fields received Unit Appreciation from the Chief of Army Staff and the Eastern Army Commander.
