Assam Govt Allocates ₹115 Crore For Mrityunjoy Emergency Ambulance Service

 

GUWAHATI: The Assam government has approved an allocation of ₹115 crore to the 108 Mrityunjoy Emergency Ambulance Service.

This decision was announced by Education Minister Ranoj Pegu following a State cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, November 26.

The newly allocated funds will aim to enhance the service’s operational efficiency, ensuring uninterrupted access to emergency healthcare, particularly in remote and underserved regions.

Since its inception, the 108 Mrityunjoy Service has delivered medical assistance to over 65 lakh individuals, reportedly saving nearly 2 lakh lives through timely interventions in emergencies.

Minister Pegu further emphasised the service's pivotal role in strengthening Assam's emergency medical response framework, as he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to prioritising health and welfare.
